Mooresville Tribune

Yesterday we were informed that the
Mooresville Tribune published an article
about Diane and I going on our mission.
We are displaying it here.

We were interviewed for this article by
our Gastonia Stake Public Affairs Media
Specialists, Sis. Miller and Sis. Fairbairn.

They did a really good job.

Being Set Apart

Our stake president, Pres. Holderness, and his wife came to our small motel room.  There were only two chairs.  Pres. Holderness and his wife had to sit on the side of the bed while we talked for a bit.  Then he, with the authority given him by the 1st Presidency, set each of us apart as missionaries to the Germany Frankfurt Mission.

Outside it was getting dark and the rain was falling hard, yet inside we felt the warmth and comfort of the Spirit.  As each of us were set apart, Pres. Holderness also blessed us.  The things he verbalized could only have come from promptings of the Holy Ghost.  They were very personal and individually specific to each of us.  Only the Lord would have known what those blessings would mean to Diane and me.  What a beautiful testimony it was to both of us to know that the Lord was speaking to us through his servant and re-confirmed to us that the decision for us to be called to the Germany Frankfurt Mission and serve as Area Technology Specialist for all of Europe came from our Father in Heaven.  This realization came to both of us while the priesthood blessings were being bestowed on us.  We could not prevent tears from forming in our eyes.
